OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that Employees were exposed to caught-in hazards when portable cordless hand-held power tools were cleaned without properly de-energizing the power source of those tools. Farmington High School, 10 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032: On or about May 03, 2024, an employee suffered a severe laceration to his right arm/wrist while cleaning a portable, cordless "track saw". The employee had not appropriately de-energized the saw to prevent accidental operation of the equipment.

Farmington High School, 10 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT 06032: On or about May 03, 2024, employees were not instructed in the means and methods to recognize and avoid unsafe conditions and to control or eliminate hazards or exposure to injury. An employee was severely injured while performing cleaning and maintenance procedures on a Milwaukee M18 Fuel 6.5" Plunge Track Saw, Model 2831-20.
