MATTS Barge, midship port side hatch: Employees engaged in hoisting scrap metal from the compressor room up to the top deck did not use distinct visual or non-verbal auditory signals to communicate with the signalman and crane operator. Employees were exposed to caught-in and struck-by hazards.
