29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii):Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): (a)Federal Metals & Alloys Inc/4216 South Clinton Ave/South Plainfield, NJ 07080, The employer did not ensure that the GENSCO DTX-340 hydraulic alligator sheer (Stock # 20739) in the warehouse was guarded to protect against crushing and amputation injuries. The ingoing nip points created by the hydraulic alligator sheer had a guard in the open position while operating which did not prevent employees from accessing the zone of danger. Condition observed on or about 05/10/2024.
