29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person: a) On or about May 7, 2024 and at times prior, employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards created by working under an unsecured porch cover of a residential structure between construction phases without taking into account the adverse weather conditions. A high wind advisory was issued that day resulting in the unsecured porch cover falling on two employees resulting in serious injuries. The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person to include conditions such as temporary support and bracing of structures.
