29 CFR 1926.502(d): The employer used body belts as part of a personal fall arrest system: Effective January 1, 1998, body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. Note: The use of a body belt in a positioning device system is acceptable and is regulated under paragraph (e) of this section. On or about May 10, 2024, and at times prior thereto, employees performing roofing work were not wearing the correct harnesses for the personal fall arrest systems. The employer provided positioning device body belts that are not part of the personal fall protection systems.
