OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees by exposing employees to struck-by and/or caught-between hazards. Route 395, Exit 50 Northbound Ramp, Thompson, CT, Highway guardrail installation project: On, or about, May 14, 2024, a DP Driver model 1250 post driver rolled backwards on an inclined surface while an employee was performing highway guardrail installation activities in close proximity of the post driver, exposing them to caught-between hazards. Proper clearance of the post driver was not maintained in accordance with the operations manual and warning decals on the post driver when moving from post to post.
