29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) At mezzanine, on Press Line #25/Dryer #25: On May 17, 2024, the employer exposed employees to caught-in/amputation hazards, in that a supply dryer drive shaft plate was not properly guarded when employees were engaged in maintenance activities. Also, belts and pulleys located in close proximity to the drive shaft were not provided with guards.
