1910.134(k)(3)  The employer shall provide the training prior to requiring the employee to use a respirator in the workplace. 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function:  (a) On or before 5/31/2024, the employer did not ensure that all employees wearing tight-fitting respirators were clean shaven where the seal of the mask touches the face. Employees were sanding bondo while unshaven and wearing tight-fitting respirators. This condition exposed employees to respiratory hazards.  Caliber Collision Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1628891, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/16/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 10501 W I-70 Frontage Road North Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
