29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer shall assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): a. On or before May 28, 2024, the employer did not conduct an adequate assessment of the hazards present for employees operating the Wet Hammer Mill. Zirconium, a highly flammable material, was present and employees were not protected from the risk of fire/explosion.
