29 CFR  1910.138(a):The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes.  a) Surface Recon paint removal area:  On or about June 26, 2024, and at times prior to, the employer exposed employees to chemical burn hazards without selecting the proper type of hand protection for employees applying corrosive Benco Industrial Paint Remover with brushes and rollers and removing it with a scrapper hand tool. Employees are provided and sometimes use orange nitrile gloves that are not appropriate for corrosive chemical protection.
