29 CFR 1910.28(b)(2)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee in a hoist area was protected from falling 4 feet (1.2 m) or more to a lower level by one or more of the following: (A) Covers; (B) Guardrail systems; (C) Travel restraint systems; or Personal fall arrest systems. a) Atlantic Plumbing Supply Corporation - Mezzanine/storage area: Employees were not protected from fall hazards of approximately 9.5 feet to the concrete ground below when they were working near the edge of an opening located in the mezzanine area. The open area (approximately 6 feet by 6 feet) is used to lift or lower material thru it with a forklift, employees grab the products from the forklift without using a fall arrest system or guardrails to protect them from falls, occurred on or about 06/13/2024.
