29 CFR  1926.502(d)(16): Personal fall arrest systems, when stopping a fall, shall be rigged such that an employee can neither free fall more than 6 feet (1.8 m), nor contact any lower level:   a - 2020 Old Trenton Road, Building 33, West Windsor NJ:   Workers assisting with the installation of floor joists, and performing other related activities, while working and walking on the top of installed floor joists, were not protected from falling while wearing full body harnesses whose connected, extended, lanyard's length and improperly installed retractable lanyard housing unit would not have stopped them from contacting a lower level.  As such, these workers was exposed to fall hazards up to and in excess of 12 feet 2 inches. Condition observed on or about 07/02/24.  b - 2020 Old Trenton Road, Building 33, West Windsor NJ:   A worker assisting with the installation of floor joist, and performing other related activites  while at unprotected edges of a residential structure's second floor, was not protected from falling while wearing a full body harness whose connected, extended,  lanyard's length (that was improperly anchored) would not have stopped them from contacting a lower level.  As such, this worker was exposed to fall hazards up to and in excess of 13 feet 2 inches. Condition observed on or about 07/02/24.  SDA Construction, LLC. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1676070, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 07/18/23, with respect to a workplace located at 19 Lincoln Boulevard, Emerson NJ.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
