29 CFR 1910.157(e)(2): Portable fire extinguishers were not visually inspected at least monthly: a) On or about July 3, 2024, at the National Park Service, San Juan National Historic Site, 'El Polvorin' office, there were three fire extinguishers; 2.5 pounds, ABC Dry Chemical, Serial #E66110788, 5 pounds, ABC dry chemical, serial number 17593247, and a 10 pounds, ABC dry chemical, serial number F56263500 with no documented monthly inspections, exposing employees to fire hazards. NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.

29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: a) On or about July 3, 2024, at the National Park Service, San Juan National Historic Site, 'El Polvorin' office, there was a fire extinguisher, 5 pounds, ABC dry chemical, on the floor, not readily accessible, exposing employees to fire hazards. b) On or about July 3, 2024, at the National Park Service, San Juan National Historic Site, 'El Polvorin' office, there was a fire extinguisher, 5 pounds, ABC dry chemical, partially obstructed by boxes, not readily accessible, exposing employees to fire hazards. NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for all instances of this citation item as required by CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
