OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to repeated physical assault from a patient who consistently exhibited aggressive behavior: a) On or about July 9, 2024, and at times prior and subsequent, employees of Southeastern Developmental Services, Inc., including, but not limited to Direct Support Professionals, were exposed to repeated incidents of workplace violence when a patient engaged in aggressive behaviors such as headbutts, biting, punching, hitting, and throwing objects. Employees suffered serious injuries such as head and torso injuries, bite injuries, broken wrists, broken nose, and bruises from being struck by objects.
