29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." An employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) On or about July 11, 2024, on the roof of apartment garages located at 4111 Lockport Street, Bismarck, North Dakota, employees who were removing solar panels were exposed to a fall hazard of greater than 6 feet to the ground below.
