29 CFR 1910.219(d)(1): Pulleys. Guarding. Pulleys, any parts of which are seven (7) feet or less from the floor or working platform, shall be guarded in accordance with the standards specified in paragraphs (m) and (o) of this section. Pulleys serving as balance wheels (e.g., punch presses) on which the point of contact between belt and pulley is more than six feet six inches (6 ft. 6 in.) from the floor or platform may be guarded with a disk covering the spokes. a) On or about July 15, 2024, Pierce Auto Parts did not enclose the air compressor belt and pulley that was approximately 44 inches above the floor exposing employees to pinch points hazards when they entered the compressor room to turn it on.

Except as�elsewhere required�or permitted�by this�standard, live�parts of�electric equipment�operating at�50 volts�or more�shall be�guarded against�accidental contact by�use of�approved cabinets�or other�forms of�approved enclosures�or by�any of�the following�means: a) On or about July 15, 2024 Pierce Auto Parts did not ensure the 240 volts electrical cabinet located in the compressor room was guarded against accidental contact in that the cover was not installed. b) On or about July 15, 2024 Pierce Auto Parts did not ensure the 110 volts electrical outlet cover was installed on the red Rotary Model SPOA7-100 automotive lift exposing employees to electrical hazards.
