29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):"Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. Exception: When the employer can demonstrate that it is infeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems, the employer shall develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets the requirements of paragraph (k) of 1926.502. On or about July 11, 2024, employees performing residential roofing activities were not protected from a fall, exposing employees to a 9-foot fall. R.A.C. Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1614950, citation 1, item 1, and was affirmed final order on June 12, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 733 S Maple Ave Oak Park, IL 60304114. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1):The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. On or about July 11, 2024, employees working at heights exceeding six feet were not trained to recognize and minimize fall hazards, exposing the employees to a 9 foot fall. R.A.C. Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.502(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1737787, citation 1, item 3, and was affirmed final order on July 24, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 114 S. Dwyer Avenue Arlington Heights, IL 60005 Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1926.502(d)(15):Anchorages used for attachment of personal fall arrest equipment shall be independent of any anchorage being used to support or suspend platforms and capable of supporting at least 5,000 pounds (22.2 kN) per employee attached. On or about July 11, 2024, employees performing residential construction activities improperly installed a fall protection anchor that was not capable of supporting 5,000 pounds, or installed per the manufactures specifications. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
