29 CFR  1910.151(c): Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use.  On or about July 2, 2024, employees were exposed to corrosive materials, specifically Acetic Acid Glacial.  There was no adequate eyewash station or safety shower in the vicinity of the dock area to quickly drench the eyes or skin of the employees in the event of exposure to corrosive substances.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR  1910.1200(b)(4)(iii): Employers shall ensure that employees are provided with information and training in accordance with paragraph (h) of this section (except for the location and availability of the written hazard communication program under paragraph (h)(2)(iii) of this section), to the extent necessary to protect them in the event of a spill or leak of a hazardous chemical from a sealed container.  On or about July 2, 2024, the employer failed to train employees on Safety Data Sheets for chemicals used at the 825 Commerce Drive, South Elgin, IL 60177 facility, the location of the Safety Data Sheets on the chemicals used at the South Elgin facility to be readily accessible to employees, and how to safely clean a spill or a leak of a hazardous chemical.  Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1903(c).
