OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm, including severe burns, to employees in that employees were exposed to fire, flash fire, deflagration, or explosion hazards from dust collection equipment not equipped with explosion protection: a) Grinder Room- On or about November 13, 2024, employees were exposed to fire hazards from combustible dust with the potential for deflagration or explosion hazards as collection equipment collecting ground plastic dust was not equipped with an explosion protection system. Abatement certification and documentation required.

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.: a) Grinder room- On or about November 13, 2024, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from the use of a compressed air gun for cleaning that was measured at approximately 60 pounds per square inch. Abatement certification required.
