The employer must ensure ladders placed in locations such as passageways, doorways, or driveways where they can be displaced by other activities or traffic are secured to prevent accidental displacement. On or about July 18, 2024, in the Wall Production Loading area at 10805 Business Hwy 51 South in Rothschild, Wisconsin, employees were exposed to potential fall hazards 10 feet above surface level while using straight ladders with the tops positioned against prefabricated walls that were hoisted by overhead cranes. The ladders were not secured to prevent accidental movement from crane operation.
