29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc. a) Buckeye Corrugated Inc dba BCI Rochester Division, 797 Old Dutch Road, Victor, NY - Converting. On or about August 14, 2024, workers were exposed to point-of-operation hazards at the SQ4 EAM Mosca bundler of the 37.5-inch Ward FFG. Machine guarding was not provided to protect workers when required to push product at the bundler's infeed/point of operation. b) Buckeye Corrugated Inc dba BCI Rochester Division, 797 Old Dutch Road, Victor, NY - Converting. On or about August 14, 2024, workers were exposed to point of operation hazards at the Mosca Strapping System (bundler) of the 50-inch Ward FFG. Machine guarding was not provided to protect workers when required to push product at the infeed/point of operation of the bundler.
