29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer shall assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). (a) Process lines throughout the facility - On or about August 14th, 2024, the employer did not perform a personal protective equipment hazard assessment. Employees were exposed to chemical hazards such as, but not limited to, nitric acid (corrosive), hydrochloric acid (corrosive), or sodium hydroxide (corrosive) while adjusting and maintaining levels of electroplating or dipping baths. Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.13(c).
