29 CFR 1926.452(b)(2):Transverse bracing forming an "X" across the width of the scaffold shall be installed at the scaffold ends and at least at every third set of posts horizontally (measured from only one end) and every fourth runner vertically. Bracing shall extend diagonally from the inner or outer posts or runners upward to the next outer or inner posts or runners. Building ties shall be installed at the bearer levels between the transverse bracing and shall conform to the requirements of 1926.451(c)(1): a) Worksite was located at 115 Tuttle Avenue, Spring Lake, NJ 07762 Workers doing thin brick installation work on the chimneys of a two-story single-family home were using two scaffolds that lacked cross bracing on one side each exposing workers to fall hazards. Violation was observed on or about August 14, 2024.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b), nor did the employer demonstrate that it is infeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems and develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets the requirements of paragraph (k) of section 1926.502: a) Worksite was located at 115 Tuttle Avenue, Spring Lake, NJ 07762 Workers doing thin brick installation work on the chimneys of a two-story single-family home were not using fall protection while working from the roof. Violation was observed on or about August 14, 2024.
