29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(ii):Point(s) of operation of machinery were not guarded to prevent employee(s) from having any part of their body in the danger zone(s) during operating cycle(s): On or about August 15, 2024, and at times prior thereto and thereafter, at the saw shop, the employer did not ensure machine guarding was in place to protect employees from ingoing nip points and moving parts for the following machines: a) This violation was observed on or about August 15, 2024, the point of operation for the Chris Cutter 5' power press located in the chopper area of the saw shop was not guarded. b) This violation was observed on or about August 15, 2024, the point of operation for the MEC power press located in the chopper area of the saw shop was not guarded. c) This violation was observed on or about August 15, 2024, the point of operation for the jaguar saw was not guarded. d) This violation was observed on or about August 15, 2024, beside each of the three wire cutting saws plastic yellow chains are used in lieu of machine guarding to prevent employees from the machine areas hazards such as, but not limited to moving product and points of operation exposing employees to the hazards of caught-in, struck by.
