29 CFR 1926.701(b):Reinforcing steel. All protruding reinforcing steel, onto and into which employees could fall, shall be guarded to eliminate the hazard of impalement. a) On or about 08/16/2024, during the new home construction located on Etna Trail, in Brockport, New York, the employer did not enforce safe working practices to guard against rebar impalement hazards by installing protective covers to prevent serious injury. Employees were exposed to impalement hazards from protruding rebar. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
