29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b): The employer does not protect each employee from the hazard of falling by the use of fall protection devices. a) This most recently occurred on August 19, 2024, at 100 Hazel, Glencoe, Illinois, where employees were exposed to the hazard of falling approximately 25 feet from a pitched roof and 17 feet from a low slope roof while performing roofing work without the benefit of fall protection. To abate this hazard in the future, the employer must ensure that employees are protected from the hazard of falling by the use of fall protection devices. This employer has been cited for this practice that included: Corner Construction Corp. was previously cited for a Repeat violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1729539, citation 1, item 1, and was affirmed as a final order on or about April 23, 2024, with respect to a worksite located at 428 37th Street, Downers Grove, Illinois.
