29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. On or about August 20, 2024, employees engaged in residential roofing operations were exposed to eye injury hazards while operating pneumatic nail guns without eye protection. Employer did not ensure that employees that were engaged in roofing installations activities utilizing pneumatic guns were utilizing safety glasses. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system: On or about August 20, 2024, Employees were exposed to fall hazards in approximately 22 feet while engaged in residential roofing activities. Fall protection was not being utilized while employees were engaged in roof installation activities. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1926.502(d)(17): The attachment point of the body belt shall be located in the center of the wearer's back. The attachment point of the body harness was not located in the center of the wearer's back near shoulder level, or above the wearer's head. On or about August 20, 2024, Employees were exposed to fall hazards in approximately 22 feet while performing roofing operations on a residential property. Two employees were observed not using fall protection correctly when their lifeline lanyard was connected to the front of his harness while performing roofing operations. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
