1910.22(c) (c) Access and egress. The employer must provide, and ensure each employee uses, a safe means of access and egress to and from walking-working surfaces. OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by and crushing hazards: Site: JFK International Airport Hangar 10, Jamaica, NY 11430 (Bay 6, door 1). a) On or about August 23, 2024, an American Airlines employee operating a 100 ft H x 93 ft W x 2 ft D hangar door was positioned in such that they were unable to use a safe means of egress from a walking-working surface. Note: In addition to abatement certification, the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
