29 CFR 1926.251(a)(1): Rigging equipment for material handling shall be inspected prior to use on each shift and as necessary during its use to ensure that it is safe. Defective rigging equipment shall be removed from service: Site - A frayed 10,000 pound Husky strap was used as rigging between a Caterpillar TL943D rough terrain and a pre-framed wall. While setting the wall, the strap broke. The employer failed to inspect the strap to ensure that it was safe for use as rigging equipment.
