29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder was used to gain access: On or about August 27, 2024, at 9573 Caymas Terrace , Naples, Florida, employees were exposed to a 12-foot fall hazard while accessing to a section of a new residential roof to install a piece of siding board onto the exterior wall of a residential building using an extension ladder with its side rails not extended at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface. Sutton Contracting, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1461369, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 07/14/2020, with respect to a workplace located at 13029 Rinella Street, Sarasota, Florida, 34293.
