OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees where employees were exposed to amputation hazards: On or about August 24, 2024, at 2940 Tilden Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C. the employer failed to keep employee safe from possible amputation hazards when an employee was cutting (2") PVC conduit with a Makita Circulating wet saw, with a tooth blade attached. Makita XEC01 Owners' Manual on page 4 states toothed blade is not to be attached to the saw. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
