29 CFR 1926.350(j): Section 3.2.4.3 American National Standards Institute Z49.1-1967 (3.5.3.2) as adopted by 29 CFR 1926.350(j): Approved protective equipment was not installed in fuel gas piping to prevent passage of flashback into the fuel-gas supply system. On or about September 4, 2024, next to oil tank #1, employees were conducting welding activities while using an acetylene gas cylinder that did not have flashback protective equipment. Incorporated by reference: ANSI Z49.1-1967 read under Piping Protective Equipment 3.5.3.2 Approved protective equipment shall be installed in fuel-gas piping to prevent: (1) backflow of oxygen into the fuel-gas supply system (2) passage of a flash back into the fuel-gas supply system; and (3) excessive back pressure of oxygen in the fuel-gas supply system.
