29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:  a) On or about May 24th, 2024, an employee was operating a Toolmex Lathe (Model TUR630A, Serial No. 60081) in the machine shop to polish a driveshaft with sandpaper and one or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator from hazards such as those created by point of operation and rotating parts.  b) On or about September 9, 2024, an employee was operating a Toolmex Lathe (Model TUR630A, Serial No. 60081) in the machine shop to shape stub shafts and one or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator from hazards such as those created by point of operation, rotating parts, and flying chips.
