The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet or more above a lower level was protected from falling by one or more of the systems described in 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i).  Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1903(c).

29 CFR  1910.30(a)(1): The employer did not provide training for each employee who used personal fall protection systems or who was required to be trained as specified elsewhere in this subpart before any employee was exposed to a fall hazard:  11309 W. Chetlain Lane, Galena, IL:  On or about September 10, 2024, employees were disassembling pallet racking system while standing on the 1st and 2nd level of the pallet  racking system.  Employees were permitted to work 5 feet or more above the cement floor without any fall protection.  The employer did not provide training for each employee on the hazards associated with working from elevated levels before any employee was exposed to a fall hazard.  Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1903(c).
