29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Machine area: On or about September 27, 2024, the employer did not ensure that an approximately 12-inch wide area between the back of a CNC plate machine and the manual conveyor table used to load the steel plates into the machine was guarded or blocked to prevent employees from entering the area where they could be struck by steel plates being stamped and drilled by the CNC machine.
