29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Extruder 3, E003: On September 22, 2024 and times prior, employees performed a changeover process in which they would cut a plastic sheet and apply the sheet to an empty, running winder core. Employees were not protected from an in-going nip point that was created during the process between the plastic sheet and spinning winder roll.
