29 CFR 1928.57(a)(6)(v): At the time of initial assignment and at least annually thereafter, the employer did not instruct every employee in the safe operation and servicing of all covered equipment, to include instruction on locking out of electrical power prior to performing maintenance or service on farmstead equipment: a) Hansen Farms LLC, 2330 Mott Road, Stanley, NY - CABCOR, Coring Machines, Cabbage Line. On or about September 24, 2024, workers were instructed and permitted to perform servicing of the cabbage coring machines and conveyors, without first being instructed in safe servicing of equipment.

29 CFR 1928.57(a)(11): The employer did not ensure that where a moving machinery part presented a hazard during servicing or maintenance, the engine was not stopped, the power source was not disconnected, and all machine movement was not stopped before servicing or maintenance was performed. a) Hansen Farms LLC, 2330 Mott Road, Stanley, NY - CABCOR, Coring Machines, Cabbage Line. On or about September 24, 2024, workers performed servicing of the cabbage coring machines and conveyors, without first ensuring the power source was disconnected. Lockout of electrical power before performing maintenance or service on the equipment was not performed.

29 CFR 1928.57(a)(7)(i): The employer did not protect employees from coming into contact with hazards created by moving machinery parts through the installation and use of a guard or shield: a) Hansen Farms LLC, 2330 Mott Road, Stanley, NY - CABCOR, Coring Machines, Cabbage Line. On or about September 24, 2024, workers were instructed and permitted to remove cabbage cores while operating unguarded cabbage coring machines. The employer did not protect the employees' hands from hazards created by moving parts, specifically the point of operation at the rotating boring bit of the cabbage corers.
