29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1)(i)(B):The width of working space in front of the electric equipment shall be the width of the equipment or 762 mm (30 in.), whichever is greater. In all cases, the working space shall permit at least a 90-degree opening of equipment doors or hinged panels: A) on or about October 7th, employees were exposed to fire and electrical hazards. In the file storage room, there was an electrical panel box, containing breaker for the electrical fixtures in the office, that was blocked by a large wooden table to the point that it was impossible to open the panel without expending effort in moving the large table. If employees were exposed to electrical or fire hazard resulting from a problem with the electrical system, they would not be able to cut the power to any circuits in the office.

29 CFR 1910.304(b)(4)(ii)(B):Where connected to a branch circuit supplying two or more receptacles or outlets, a receptacle may not supply a total cord- and plug-connected load in excess of the maximum specified in Table S-4: A) On or about October 7th, in the community break room, Employees were exposed to potential fire hazards from a 15 amp electrical power strip that was connected to three appliances that drew a total of 18.6 amps. Repeated use of appliances drawing more current than the electrical power strip is rated for runs the risk of damage to the strips components, and eventual failure and resulting fire.
