29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): No employer shall permit an employee to work in such proximity to any part of an electric power circuit that the employee could contact the electric power circuit in the course of work, unless the employee is protected against electric shock by deenergizing the circuit and grounding it or by guarding it effectively by insulation or other means. On or about October 10, 2024, at the jobsite located at 1029 Witzel Avenue Oshkosh, Wisconsin; an employee was not protected against contact with energized overhead power lines, exposing them to electrical shock when using nylon mason string thrown over the overhead power lines to raise a downed communications line. The overhead power lines consisted of secondary lines having a voltage rating of 120/240 Volts.
