1910.212(a)(3)(iii) Special handtools for placing and removing material(s) was not provided to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone: In the Harvest Department, at the Hock Line, employee(s) engaged in animal harvesting operations while utilizing a Jarvis HS-1 Hock Cleaner were exposed to burn hazards while cleaning and sterilizing animal carcass parts. This was most recently documented on October 5, 2024, at a worksite located at 3105 N. IBP Road, in Holcomb, Kansas when an employee walked by a hock cleaner that was still active while positioned in the resting position on a hock stand. The hock cleaner suctioned to the employee(s) abdomen causing 3rd degree burns and hospitalization.
