29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): "Roofing work on Low-slope roofs." Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (b) of this section, each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system. Or, on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width, the use of a safety monitoring system alone [i.e. without the warning line system] is permitted.   On or about October 16, 2024, at a worksite located at 4300 County Road CR in Manitowoc, Wisconsin; employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 10 to 16 feet onto a concrete surface while installing asphalt roofing shingles on a commercial roof without fall protection.  ABC Construction Specialists, Inc. was previously cited for a Serious violation of an equivalent Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1613917, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as final order on October 25, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 506 South Cleveland Avenue in Arlington Heights, Illinois.   ABC Construction Specialists, Inc. was previously cited for a Serious violation of an equivalent Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1557746, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as final order on May 31, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 506 South Home Avenue in Park Ridge, Illinois.
