29 CFR  1926.501(b)(10):"Roofing work on Low-slope roofs." Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (b) of this section, each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system.   a) On or about 10/28/2024, along the roof top at  (Adfors - Saint Gobain Company)14770 East Avenue, in Albion, New York, the employer did not enforce the use of fall protection, during the tear-off and Smartcoat application of an existing roof.  Employees were engaged in roofing work and exposed to an unprotected edge without the use of fall protection.  Employees were expose to fall hazards and falling 20 feet to lower levels.  NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

29 CFR  1910.134(k)(6):The employer did not provide the basic advisory information on respirators, as presented in Appendix D of 29 CFR 1910.134, in written or oral format to employees who wear respirators when such use was not required by the employer:  a) On or about 10/28/2024, along the roof top at  Adfors - Saint Gobain Company, 14770 East Avenue, in Albion, New York, the employer did not take certain precautions to ensure that voluntary respirator use by employees received instructions regarding the safe use of the respirator.  Employees were allowed  to use  a 3M #7502 half mask during the application of "SmartCoat" roof coating a non-hazardous material, without receiving basic information as provided in Appendix D.  Employees were exposed to potential hazards due to lack of training and instructions provided by the manufacture on use, maintenance, cleaning and care and warnings regarding the respirators limitations.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
