29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes.  a) On or about October 30, 2024, wash technician employees were required to clean chemical tanks and pumps, with caustic solution,  Sodium Hydroxide, 0.5M, a corrosive chemical.  The employer did not require and ensure the use of long chemical resistant gloves to protect affected employee's hands and arms. The lack of proper gloves exposed the employee's forearms to chemical burns.
