29 CFR 1926.652 (a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). a) In an excavation located at Corner of Wright rd. and Handcart rd. on or about 11/13/2024, the employer exposed employees to a cave in hazard, in that employees were conducting work in an excavation at a depth greater than 5 feet without using a protective system. Amici Engineering Contractors LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.652(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1730083, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 8/16/2024, with respect to a workplace located at the Zephyrhills Job Site, SR 56 near 301, Zephyrhills FL.
