29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):"Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. Located at 369 Lafayette Street, London, OH 43140: On or about December 10, 2024, employees working on framing and setting trusses on a commercial construction project were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 11' as they worked without fall protection or prevention systems. Borntrager Builders LTD was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard, 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1727920, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 27, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 967 South Main Street, Bowling Green, OH 43402.
