OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falls from riding in the back of moving trucks:  On or about December 10, 2024, at 600 NE Maguire Boulevard, Lees Summit, Missouri, the employer failed to protect employees from recognized fall and ejection hazards created when employees are allowed to ride in the unenclosed cargo area of trucks during travel or movement. An employee riding on the back  edge of the bed of a 3/4 ton Ford F-350 flatbed pickup truck fell off the truck onto a paved parking lot as the truck accelerated forward. The employee suffered fatal injuries.   The feasible and acceptable methods of abatement include:  ?	Prohibit employees from riding in vehicle areas that are not equipped with a seat and safety belt, following the manufacturer's vehicle manual. The 20217 Ford F-350 vehicle manual states, "It is extremely dangerous to ride in a cargo area, inside or outside of a vehicle. In a collision, people riding in these areas are more likely to be seriously injured or killed. Do not allow people to ride in any area of your vehicle that is not equipped with seats and safety belts. Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat and using a safety belt properly."
