OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1) The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees from thermal and chemical burns: a) Milk Receiving Bay: On December 7, 2024, and at times prior to, workers involved in the troubleshooting of a clean-in-place (CIP) system were exposed to potential chemical and thermal burn hazards. Note* Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item. Among others, feasible and acceptable means of abatement for troubleshooting Clean in Place (CIP) and passivation activities should involve close coordination and effective communication between the host employer and Ecolab representatives to include: - Conducting a job hazard analysis / process hazard analysis (JHA / PHA). - Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Training affected workers on the hazards and safety measures.
