1926.451(g)(1) Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. Note to paragraph (g)(1): The fall protection requirements for employees installing suspension scaffold support systems on floors, roofs, and other elevated surfaces are set forth in subpart M of this part. 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(15): Each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 meters) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system: On or about December 14, 2024, employee(s) working from a wooden pallet raised via telehandler were not protected from fall hazards greater than 6ft.

29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2)(v): Fork-lifts were used to support scaffold platforms while the entire platform was not attached to the fork and the fork-lift was moved horizontally while the platform was occupied: On or about December 14, 2024, a JLG telehandler was used to support a wooden pallet as a scaffold platform that was not secured onto the forks. Employees that installed beams onto the structure were exposed to a fall hazard. RG Professional Carpenter, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2)(v) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1689411, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on October 5, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 2557 Tullamore St. Fitchburg, WI 53711.
