29 CFR  1910.36(e)(1): A side-hinged door was not used to connect any room to an exit route:  On or about December 19, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the fence partition which surrounds the southwest/front office exit doors included a side-hinged door to connect the warehouse area to the exit route. The fence partition was equipped with a sliding fence door at the exit route which could hinder egress during an emergency.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.

29 CFR  1910.37(b)(4): Signs were not posted along the exit access indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit and exit discharge when the direction of travel to the exit or exit discharge was not immediately apparent and the line-of-sight to an exit was not clearly visible:  On or about December 19, 2024, the emergency exit located in the southwest corner of the warehouse was not immediately apparent in that the direction of travel was not posted and the exit sign was not clearly visible.  The exit sign above the southwest exit door did not have a clear line-of-sight due to materials stored in the area and an adjacent racking system.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. 29 CFR  1910.37(b)(6): Each exit sign was not illuminated to a surface value of at least five foot-candles (54 lux) by a reliable light source and be distinctive in color:  On or about December 19, 2024, the exit sign over the exit door located in the southwest corner of the warehouse was not illuminated.  Employees would not be visually alerted to the closest exit during emergency situations with power outages and smoke accumulation in the facility.
