29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a): Press- Haeger Insertion Machine - One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator from hazards created by the point of operation on the tapping machine. Employees using the machine to press threaded studs into sheet metal are exposed to crushing hazards to their hands and fingers. An employee suffered a fingertip amputation when his finger was caught in the point of operation, on or about January 2, 2025. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
